About Hospital

• Assunta Hospital PJ was established in 1954 as a not-for-profit institution. It was founded by a group of missionaries from the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM).
• With over 100 specialists, the 245-bedded Assunta Hospital is now a technologically-advanced specialist hospital. Some of the advanced technologies used by the hospital includes:
  • 3 Tesla MRI service with recent installation of a new MRI machine
  • A 640-slice CT scanner
  • Digital mammography
  • Ultra-modern Cardiac Catheter Laboratory
• The hospital also works for its community to spread awareness among the masses about healthcare which made it receive regional recognition, such as the Passionately You campaign initiated in 2008 for raising awareness on breast and cervical cancers.

Awards and Recognition

• Most recently in 2021, Assunta Hospital was recognised and listed in the Top 10 Private Hospitals in Malaysia by iBanding Services Sdn Bhd (iBanding), an independent, knowledge-based insurance education provider. The ranking was done independently in social media with ratings and reviews provided by individuals who have experienced all hospital services.
• In 2013, the hospital was awarded the Hand Hygiene Excellence Award during the Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control (APSIC) conference in Taiwan in 2013.
• Assunta Hospital was also bestowed the Excellence Award in Corporate Social Responsibility Project Category by Hospital Management Asia (HMA) at the 12th Annual Asian Awards Night held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2013.
• It was presented with the National Creativity & Innovation Award in March 2004.
• Assunta Hospital was the proud recipient of the prestigious Brand Laureate Award under the category of Best Brands in Healthcare 2008-2009.
• It also won awards for its excellence in medical care and services, such as the Malaysian Healthcare Travel Awards’ “Best Medical Center in Malaysia” and the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards’ “Best Geriatric Care Provider”.

Accreditation and Certification

• Assunta Hospital was the 1st hospital in Malaysia to be awarded the ISO 9002 Certification in a special ceremony graced by the then Minister of Health of Malaysia in 1996.
• Assunta Hospital was also awarded a full three-year accreditation in 2004 by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) for its recognition of meeting the MSQH Standards of providing safe and quality health care and facilities.
• In 2014, the hospital underwent the 4th MSQH Hospital Accreditation Standards and was awarded a full four-year accreditation status.
